Hey gang! Been a long time since i've paid attention to this site.
Life has been very eh....still working a job that doesn't do shit for my spirit...why you ask, i'm trying to fig. out what to do that i'll love, why change to another shit job when i can just stay here and fig. out what my spirit needs.
I'd love to be self employeed again, that's def. where i shine most am happiest w/ the work schedule as a mama and a human being.
I'd love to collect and sell mid century modernist furniture and accessories! I need financial backers to open a store front and I just don't know many folks w/ enough money for me to ask and my credit is not great enough to go the bank loan route.
Image of career bliss, independant, surrounded by gorgeous things, need to travel to collect cool stuff, writing about the midcentury scene in alterna zines, mags etc. having my son and his friends hang w/ me when ever they want.
any hoo...the career gig is always an issue for me so movin on
Josh rocks as always. He's still unschooling and definatly still deschooling. I left today and groaned at the soap opera he was rotting his brain on and he laughed and said, hey...I'm learning alot about what i need to become a famous television producer!! W/ that quick wit and quick thinkin....i think he'll be o.k.
I still get panicked that we're waisting his brain by doing something so totally radical compared to the only model we all have but then i get on line and read unschooling stuff...it helps me have faith again in what we've chosen to do .
If any of you have questions about unschooling, like what is it, why are we doing it, are we nuts...just google unschooling or radical unschooling or radical unschooling ideas, etc. and read up for your self, it's very respectful of kids and their spirits.
Ivett is having a fab Dec. full of parties, making new friends, just being the popular, cute girl about town! I unfortunatly am doing 2 wks of jury duty which is cool but becouse we are short staffed at work i told them to sched. me nights and weekend so for the 1st 2 weeks of dec. i am pulling 80 hr. weeks, starting in the am at the court house and finishing between 11-12 at night at the crazed macy's dept store....
speaking of crazed, do know these weirdos ae now not furnishing us w/ dimes for our registers...something abut being to expensive.....o.k. at this point anyone who thinks logically that they can be assured of job security during our merger w/ the may comp. stores has got to be a moron! hello...these are the nuts not supplying us w/ FUCKING DIMES!!!!!!!!
yeah...the resume is out and about....
I'd love to hear from every one, share some holiday recipes etc.!
Me, as soon as i make pitzells tonight for the 1st time, i'll let ya know if i have a good recipe or not!

i wish to create an inviting home to parents who are radical in their many loving ways. Unschooler's, home schoolers, traditional schoolers, vegans, vegetarians, meat eaters, artist, activist,.
Personally, i am a radical bi-dyke who as a single parent chose to homebirth, nurse to the age of 3 1/2, do odd jobs, cut hair from my home and be on welfare the 1st few yrs. of my son's life cuz i wanted to be w/ him, not building a carreer. I've always been politically involved in one way or another, mouthy, loud and intensly protective of my son's right to be educated about the world from a radical perspective, to choose his own food, clothing, hair color, life goals.
When he started kindergarden i was sad i could not homeschool but desperatly needed to get back to work and relieve abit of the financial single mama stress. Luckily he always went to alternative arts focused schools but now at the age of 12 in 7th grade i feel he's still been harmed by school. He hates it, hates being told what to study, how to study it and just seems to have given up. He's incredibly bright and yet has lost his desire to esplore the world.
I offered homeschooling at the end of elementary school but he chose an alternative arts school, unfortunatly, this has done nothing for his wonderlust.
Currently I am trying to explaine to my partner the benefits of unschooling but she will need to read up and meet other unschoolers, she's very uncomfortable with the idea and i do not explain it well to her becouse i am so ferociously (mama lion like) committed to the idea of saving my son's spirit!
I'd love to hear from folks on ways they bring the beauty of radical parenting into their lives.
